WHO WE ARE

Founded in 1946 at Oklahoma A&M University, Tau Beta Sigma is a national co-educational service sorority with hundreds of chapters across the country. We are the Beta Gamma Chapter, receiving our charter in 1957, and we continue to serve the Austin community and the University of Texas Longhorn Band, Showband of the Southwest!

WHAT WE DO

01

INTERNAL SERVICE

During football games, our chapter serves the band by carrying medicine kits, supplying water, and selling merchandise. The majority of the proceeds from this merchandise benefit our chosen philanthropy.

02

EXTERNAL SERVICE

Our chapter also serves the city of Austin in music and community. Some of our favorite volunteer events include joining high school bands at football games and middle school bands in rehearsals, helping out at the Austin Animal Center, and working with the UT Farm Stand! We have many different opportunities to serve.

03

PHILANTHROPY

Our chapter’s fundraising efforts primarily benefit our philanthropy, Anthropos Arts! Other money we raise goes towards scholarships supporting TBS members and non-TBS members in the Longhorn Band.

04

SISTERHOOD

Our chapter promotes equality and diversity, such as empowering women in music.
